Bud Uwak literally means
Crow Mountain though it is neither a mountain nor a place where one hears the raucous crows crowing, cawing or squawking. It might as well have been a place of counting crows before the time of
Martial Law when several villages of Jolo were declared a
no man's land whereby Tausug Men were summarily executed.
